The Serpent has a long history for excellence and innovative design so it is no surprise that this is only of the most advanced non-titan class missiles on the market. The brains at the Lansig Corp bought the right to this weapon after the patent held by the Mobeulous Foundation expired. It is unknown why it was not renewed and some suspect a deal was cut under the table between the two corporations. In any case this move has benefited the Serpent series quite well. Lansig reviewed the history of this weapon and put their brightest minds, fresh off the Lightron series laser weapons, onto redesigning this weapon to incorporate many of the design avenues of previous models and then improve them with their own technologies. This lead to an over-tooled version of the Serpent missile. This missile is covered in a rare draconic that repels any signal by absorbing the actual momentum of the signal, leaving it stranded in space. This means it is undetectable until it is very close and because of this most point defense systems cannot detect it at all. They threw a large lithium power core into the engine system to give it a very large range for a heavy missile as well as a triple element warhead with equal part lithium and uranium in the bottom section and a large amount of plutonium in the tip of the warhead. As with most of the weapons in the heavy missile class, the original producers of the Warpigeon had long since been driven out of business by out dated business models that they refused to change. The Warpigeon production contract, along with a design rights clause, was then picked up by the Tras Conglomerate, a group of businesses that formed a lucrative trading alliance in the year 6140. They have since built up into one of the largest trading markets in the known galaxy. The Warpigeon heavy missile was their first dabble into weapons design and they brought their brightest minds into the discussions. The result was quite astronomical. The designers favored the carpet bomb design of its older days that was revived more recently but they found it lacking a certain bravado. So the claimed, why can't we change these miniature bombs into plutonium based napalm? After many years of research they found a way to do it and that is what this weapon is, a napalm like weapon designed to literally eat the armor and hull plating off of a ship. It so turns out that this mixture of plutonium and boron reacts with chemicals in draconic causing a vicious reaction which breaks the draconic down at the atomic level. These weapons are very expensive but are deadly with sustained damage over time. This weapon is a prime example of the shear barbarism and deadliness of Sulikan technology. Not happy with the destructive power of the Spine heavy the Imperial Weaponry Research Division of the Sulikan High Command devised this terror. A truly one of a kind weapon this missile digs into the hull of the target ship and then explodes, but doesn't. Instead of a conventional explosion the weapon explodes via pressure surge and distributes many smaller plutonium/uranium bombs through out the interior of the impact site. When they go off usually they cause a chain reaction that instantly vaporizes the target ship. These cause massive damage but if the ship somehow survives the attack the warhead, which is blasted further into the target, then releases a toxic substance that will kill most forms of life within seconds of contact, a substance that the Sulikan's are conveniently immune to. They succeeded in surpassing even their best hopes for the missile. The warhead can hold ten kilotons of plutonium, uranium, and nuclear waste, and the mechanics of their idea are present. On impact the warhead penetrates a hull shattering thirty feet inward before exploding. Many tests have been done and all indications are that this weapon is a one hit killer. However they failed to make it completely undetectable but the only thing able to see it coming are the seventh generation scanners and up, which are really expensive and will not likely be equipped on low priority ships
